Creatively, WE release is a Non-Profit Corporation, based in Essex County, New Jersey that offers creative art programs to children and young adults struggling with mental health issues and low self-esteem.
Established in January 2019, we've been known for offering an array of unique programs that help children develop a sense of self and acceptance.
The organization will be granted 501(c)(3) status in Fall 2022 and will be governed by a Board of Directors. Fractured Atlas has agreed to provide fiscal sponsorship to help us expand.
From January to May 2019, we worked with Activism for Arts to teach dance at P.S. 24 in Paterson, New Jersey, as an afterschool program. Throughout the semester, they were allowed to express their creativity using their bodies.
We were awarded a contract to provide dance therapy drop-in sessions for teens and adults struggling with mental health and abandonment issues at the Brooklyn Pride Center in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, from June 2019 to March 2020.
We held in-person and online dance lessons at the Brooklyn Art Exchange (BAX) in Brooklyn, New York, from July through September.
Our dance and art programs are now available at Grassroots Community Space in Jersey City.
We're a member of the Center for Nonprofits in Hamilton, NJ.
